Reclamation VFX/SFX shot preview. Whoah!

I had such a wonderful experience this month in Los Angeles and had a blast working with the fantastic team of Loveman Media (great job, Tom!). Entrusted as Director of Photography on this Sci-Fi pilot, we had custom sets built at OneStar Studios, LA. One of the most painstaking shots was an opening sequence which has a spaceship/drone wake up our protagonist, Cassie Aquino. Well it was 3am when we shot the live action sequence and now that Reclamation has entered post production, here is a sneak peak of this shot!

There is something like 20 layers of stuff including matte painting, cloud and smoke layers, the drone miniature, live action set with smoke, camera motion/push and the lighting. Notice that the lighting effects all coincide (hurrah!) with the movement of the drone. Nice one.
