My decision to use a 50mm prime lens on an APS-C sensor (bringing it to approx 80mm tele-zoom territory) allows all the shots to be taken further back and reduce the "perspective" effect by reducing the perceived distances betwen objects in the foreground and background. This way I get nicer facial features with less distortion and everybody seems closer together!
The wide-angle was used sparingly every now and then and for the closing shot.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Camera 1: Steady-cam setup with EOS 550D, Canon 50mm Prime f1.4 Lens with *no* lens hood - for those extra lens flares that seem to be in fashion.
Camera 2: 0.75m Glide-track setup with EOS 550D, Canon 10-22mm f3.5 wide-angle with FOTGA DP500 rail kit, follow focus and matte box.
Special thanks to: Sam Badawi from Christopher Hanna Platinum, Fashion Photographer Ben Scott running the show and Donald Deejay D Q for his help with the steady cam and glide work.
Filmed on-location at 501 Studios Surry Hills.
